People often ask me about the week of silence that I take every year. I take this week of silence as a means of retreating from the outside world, taking an internal inventory, and continuing to develop Sādhana. The truth is: the yoga and meditation traditions are, by nature, renunciate. They are about removing distractions, getting real with the way things are, and transcending what we think limits us. If you're at all curious about what yoga and meditation can offer you, an immersive retreat is vital to learning how to foster that sort of practice and applying it to your life. It's not easy, but it's incredibly worth it for your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Many of my students have expressed curiosity in wanting to try such a practice, but understandably feel overwhelmed by the idea of jumping into a week of silence. In response, I have developed a new retreat format that I'm excited to offer you this fall: Over 4 days and 3 nights at a beautiful local retreat center, you will learn and practice a variety of yoga and meditation techniques, reset your circadian rhythm, participate in workshops and discussions, and slowly titrate into one full day of noble silence. I will teach you everything you need to know in advance for that day to be a success (I will still be facilitating that day-- there will just be no talking amongst participants). You will leave the retreat feeling more connected, fulfilled, and at peace-- with lots of tools to help you remain in that state as you re-enter the outside world. You will be in good hands!
